Tuesday Nov 03, 2020
Tuesday Nov 03, 2020
Fabulous Flowers tv duet, Lucy & Paulie are all about Hypericum this week. An amazing plant or shrub with pretty flowers and a fantastic autumnal show or warm red berries. Hear how it grows pretty much everywhere and in many different guises, it is even a butterfly favourite.
Some may know Hypericum by is other name too St Johns Wort. Used for millennia in so many medical ways it has gained it name from a summer Saints Day and produces a nectar that has been heralded as an alternative to modern medicine which is still used even today.
Paulie loves to use Hypericum as it offers several different looks and can bring enormous texture and variety to his floristry and client work.
Floriography Fun Facts go all herby this week! The Bay is an evergreen herb and has been a staple in cookery since the Ancient Greeks use it to flavour many dishes. It carries two meanings for a recipient when sent as a message in a bouquet or as a gift, so you'll be right up to speed on Bay should you want to sent this particular message.
Hear how Paulie uses Bay in some of his incredible floral creations too - you'll be amazed.
There's so much fun in this episode, theres even a 'shoe-off' with Craig Revel Horwood that will make you laugh out loud.
This is yet again, another funpacked, florally uplifting podcast that will bring sheer flowery joy into your listening ears.
Enjoy!
